FUN DAY 2010 THANK YOU

Where were you on July 17? If you were in South Acton, you must have been one of the 350 plus people having a fun-filled time at Acton Family Network's 15th Annual Family Fun Day! Saturday was a beautiful (and HOT!) summer day and the event was hopping. Fun Day lived up to its name with families enjoying the Moon Bounces, the pony rides and the very popular trackless train. The kids also had a great time putting together fun crafts, checking out the amazing animals from Animal Adventures, running off energy at the field games, chasing bubbles, playing with cool balloons from Malik and cooling off while washing the fire truck. Plus, everyone enjoyed lots of yummy cotton candy, sno cones, Dunkin Donuts iced coffees and Munchkins, and grilled goodies from Savory Lane. See what you missed? Don't worry too much; we plan to do it all over again next summer!

We would like to thank the following people and organizations for their contributions to our biggest and most successful Fun Day to date.

Lastly, Fun Day would never happen if it weren't for all our fabulous volunteers. AFN would like to thank everyone who volunteered their time to make this a great event. A huge thank you goes to the many AB high school students and Boy Scouts from Acton Troop 1 for their help running the many activities. Specific thanks goes out to Mira Greenland for assisting with event planning and for running the raffle, to Artemis Blair for her countless hours in organizing and distributing our PR materials for the event out to the public, and to Kate Bones and Jessie Busiek for their hard work and dedication to fundraising for the event. Thanks once again to Michael Bogart at Xerox for printing all our PR materials.

Finally, a big thank you to all the people who showed up to help set up, run events and clean up: the Narbonne Family, Steve Nigro, Greg Wheeler, Paul and Lauren Friedman, Heather and Bob Lammey, Amy Barber, Sharon Metzger, Heidi Clasby, Eleni Bury, Brian Blair, Vanessa Volinsky, James Bones, and Leah Schmidt. We could not have pulled it off without all of the help! Next year is sure to be a blast and we hope to see you all there!
